It's a tricky one when you are in the public eye and when people nowadays gobble up any morsels of information offered on social media.
Do you share deeply held personal views, opinions or intimate secrets online?
Social media can be an unforgiving place for those unfamiliar with how vicious the internet can be whatever the circumstances.
It's not today or yesterday that flags, poppies, or symbols caused upset/unrest/outrage. Delete as appropriate.
It's been a tough week for Irish soccer with the passing of Derry city's captain Ryan McBride at the age of just 27.
Another of the citys sons Martin McGuinness has also passed away making it an emotional week for the city no matter what side of the divide you are from.
No stranger to twitter controversies himself James McLean is said to be incredibly upset at the passing of the Derry captain as Mclean was a pal of the Derry City FC hero.
Republic of Ireland star Shane Duffy may be absent from squad training this week but he's found himself in the eye of a storm over his tribute to Martin McGuinness tweeting:
More tragic news this morning, RIP Martin Mc Guinness a true hero for many off us 🀠god bless your family and close ones #ireland

Cue reaction from all political strands. But Duffy's undaunted.
I'll always stand by what and who I support , it's the way I was brought up https://t.co/w07ugGngmN

So if you're going to put your views on twitter/social media expect to quickly see both sides of the coin.
You have been warned.
