Meanwhile, crews from Scotland, Wales, England and France are joining ESB Networks staff today as efforts continue to reconnect households cut off in Storm Ophelia.
Around 250 staff are being supplied by other European networks, as part of a mutual aid agreement.
More than 300,000 customers have been reconnected so far, while around 70,000 remain without power.
Last night, Irish Water said around 25,000 people are without water supplies - down from a peak of 109,000.
Cork, Waterford and Wexford are the counties worst affected by the water supply issues.
Eir, meanwhile, said 50,000 customers are still without broadband, phone and mobile service.
This morning, the company said: "There are over 1,000 different locations across the country where we have sustained network damage.
"The scale of the damage ranges from a single pole, up to 18 poles and two kilometres of cables along one particular section of road."
The Defence Forces are continuing to assist with repair efforts, with the Air Corps planning to transport ESB crews to islands off the coast today.
