One Dublin Mum is using hugs to talk to her kids about their mental health

Anne McCormack is a psychotherapist and she believes that we all need to hug for longer.

She spoke to Paul McLoone this morning about The Summer Project

Started doing projects with her 3 children over the summer to keep them busy e.g. writing a book/drawing a picture. The last one for the summer is for everyone in the house to hug someone for twenty seconds each day.

The aim is for the kids to have a bit of fun (and who doesn’t love hugs). But, there is a deeper reasoning for it. Anne wants parents to try this as a way of introducing a conversation about mental health.
