Over 500K Notifications Issued During Storm Ophelia

Brendan Cunningham, Managing Director Pin Point Alerts joined Conall on the Sunday Business Show to discuss their emergency alert app, which issued over 500,000 notifications during the recent Storm Ophelia.

The company's cloud alert service, MapAlerter.com is used by councils to send targeted alerts for a variety of topics including floods, severe weather and other day to day matters such as road closures, water outages and planning notices.

Users of the system can choose their form of notifications whether it be via the app, SMS, emails or social media post. The company also uses advanced technology to insure that users receive the information for their specific locations.

Pin Point Alerts was established during 2010 prior to which Brendan originally worked in digital mapping for Kilkenny County Council.

The company has won numerous awards over the years, both in Ireland and internationally and has grown to become Ireland's leading service provider for Alerts and Notifications services.
