We've heard a lot about self-driving cars, but how soon will it be before we see them in Ireland?
Philip McNamara is the organiser of MobilityX, a public conference being held in Dublin next month which will feature the top executives in car autonomy and aims to show how self-driving cars can be positive for Ireland.
Earlier this month, the engineering group Arup released a report which said that driverless cars could bring 100,000 jobs to Ireland – but we’ll need to ensure our roads are safe enough for the purpose.
Philip was joined by Michael Sheridan for our weekly motoring slot to explain more about why we've been slow to embrace driverless cars, and why they could be the way forward.
