Irish actor Liam Cunningham is best known for his role as Davos Seaworth in the hit series Game of Thrones, but he is also an ambassador with World Vision.
Liam recently travelled to South Sudan with the charity to meet former child soldiers, having previously visited South Sudanese refugees in Northern Uganda.
To date, 4.3 million South Sudanese people have been displaced and 7 million are starving due farming being halted by conflict. Children have suffered as a result of the war, witnessing the murder of their families and in many cases being forced to become child soldiers.
Liam says, "When I got there, having seen what's happening in the Mediterranean, I said, 'What happens if this doesn't get sorted out? Is it plausible that they could go north?'"
"If they have to get out of there, the only sensible place to head is north. It's in our interest to help the people from Uganda, who are offering not just respite, but settlements. We have a solution, which is that for a very small amount of money we can resettle people."
Liam also admits he still finds the international fame Game of Thrones has given him "quite weird" and says he doesn't feel any sort of validation from it.
The show's eighth and final season has almost finished filming.
