The two-day trip marks the Royal couple's first official overseas visit

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived in Dublin on their first official overseas visit.

The two-day trip will see the Royal couple meet with President Michael D Higgins and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar as part of their itinerary.

But Paul Allen, of Paul Allen PR, thinks it could have been an opportunity to showcase the best of modern Ireland rather than the usual formalities that accompany Royal visits.

"I think it's terrific that they're coming to Dublin. This is photographic gold, but I think they can do better."

"These people are a 21st century, modern couple. They enjoy cities. We have a lot to offer. Dublin is teeming with talent, excitement and creativity. We're a nation of storytellers."

"We should be looking to the work that's going on in Ireland that's being exported around the world as opposed to looking at old buildings."
