If you're planning on taking your car overseas, Michael Sheridan has some advice

If you're planning on taking your car abroad this summer, there are a few things you'll need to be aware of.

Michael Sheridan joined us for our weekly motoring slot to give his top tips on driving overseas.

  • Be aware of local laws in the country you're visiting - always pay attention to safety at junctions and roundabouts and be aware of who has priority.
  • Some countries legally require drivers to keep specific materials in their car, such as First Aid kits etc. Make sure you look into this.
  • Before you go, make sure your driving licence hasn't expired, or isn't about to expire.
  • If you are using a company car, get a letter from the company secretary confirming that you are entitled to drive it.
