Disney recently announced that their new film Jungle Cruise will feature an openly gay character for the first time in their history - but there has been controversy over the choice of casting, as Jack Whitehall, who is straight, will play the role.
Meanwhile Eddie Redmayne's upcoming historical film The Aeronauts has also been criticised after it emerged that it will feature a newly created female character, played by Felicity Jones, in place of the real-life male balloonist Henry Coxwell, on whom the story is partly based.
