To mark the 10th anniversary of the infamous bank bailout, a major new two-part TV drama starts tonight on Virgin Media One.
The Bailout, adapted from a stage play by writer Colin Murphy, focuses on the events of 2010 when the Troika seized control of the nation's finances.
Colin and actor Denis Conway, who plays Brian Cowen, joined us in studio to talk about the drama.
Denis says he didn't talk to Brian Cowen beforehand, but simply "went from the script."
"There's a core to this guy who cares, and that was a fundamental structure for playing the character. When you analyse his journey, he's being hit left, right and centre by different things."
"He must have been frightened to his core."
Colin says of the situation, "We're a bit inclined to pat ourselves on the back and think we fixed it, but I wonder how much the lessons have been learned."
The Bailout is on Virgin Media One tonight and next Monday at 10pm.
