TMZ has reported that Morrissey was attacked by a fan onstage at his concert in San Diego last night.
The singer was in the middle of performing 'Every Day Is Like Sunday' at Copley Symphony Hall when several fans invaded the stage, with one man appearing to strike him before being removed by security, as shown by footage taken during the concert.
In a statement released on Facebook, Morrissey's manager denied that anybody had "tried to punch" him, and said that security simply had to do their job and try to subdue the fan in question.
Morrissey himself released his own statement, praising the crowd and calling the concert "a dream night for me." He criticised TMZ for creating a fictitious story as there was nothing negative to report.
Was the fan trying to embrace him rather than attack him?
John Caddell and Larissa Nolan discussed this and more in our music slot.
