Two Catholic nuns have been accused of embezzling $500,000 and feeling to Las Vegas to spend the money.
An audit of St. James Catholic School in Torrance, California, found evidence that Sister Mary Margaret Kreuper and Sister Lana Chang had been taking money from funds that were meant to me used for the school and used it to travel and to gamble at casinos.
The nuns' order, Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, has agreed to pay back the money in full — and it remains unclear whether or not either the school, or parents of the school, will press charges.
We reckon this story has serious potential as a blockbuster film and Today FM listeners were on hand to suggest what the film should be called.
