Forget 3.5 ass-numbing hours in the cinema

If you've been meaning to watch Martin Scorsese's movie The Irishman over the past couple of weeks, but just haven't gotten round to it, then it's Netflix to the rescue on Wednesday (November 27th).

The epic gangster drama will stream from that date, so you don't have to endure a straight 210 minutes of digitally de-aged viewing. You can break it down into 3 or 4 episodes - plus popcorn is cheaper at home:

Seán's Telly also takes a look at what else this week's TV has to offer:

Meat: A Threat to Our Planet? - Tonight (Monday) on BBC One @9pm

From an Irishman to an Irish woman - animal biologist Liz Bonnin investigates the environmental impact of animals being raised to supply the world's increasing demand for meat, and looks at efforts reduce the effects. She begins her journey in Texas, on a vast intensive farm with 50,000 cows, which emit huge amounts of methane, an incredibly potent greenhouse gas that is contributing to climate change. At a university in California, she hears of the efforts of scientists to better understand a cow's digestion so that they can reduce methane emissions

The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped - Wed/Thurs/Fri (Episode 1,2 & 3) @7pm on RTÉ One

In the lead-up to the television event of the year, a warm, nostalgic look back at Toy Shows past with a sneaky preview at the behind the scenes preparations of The Late Late Toy Show 2019.

Elton John: Uncensored - Thursday @9pm on BBC One

As he prepares for the publication of his autobiography, Me, and enjoys a break from his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, Elton John and Graham Norton chat about the musician's life and career, which spans more than 50 years. Elton discusses his childhood growing up as Reg Dwight in post-war Pinner, Middlesex, and looks back at his rise to global stardom in the 1970s. He also shares musical memories of the 80s and 90s, discusses his addictions, and how he managed to overcome them to become one of the world's most successful and prolific solo artists.

Seány also tells us why we need to catch up on the series The Loudest Voice ahead of the movie Bombshell, which is out in the new year.

The Loudest Voice - NOW TV & Sky On Demand (finishing soon)

This seven-part limited series is about Roger Ailes, the founder of Fox News. It focuses on the past decade in which Ailes arguably became the Republican Party's de facto leader, and the sexual harassment accusations that brought his career to an end. Starring Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts, and Sienna Miller:

Bombshell - Out in cinemas in January

A few women decide to take on Fox News boss Roger Ailes and the toxic male culture he presided over at the network. Starring Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Alice Eve, Kate McKinnon
