Dermot and Dave were honoured to welcome a hardy bit of stuff into studio this morning, as Limerick man Liam Beville told us his incredible story.
The 53-year-old recently broke the World Record on two occasions for the 67.5kg weight division in the 'Masters 3' category at the World Deadlift Championships in Manchester - winning a gold medal in the process.
Now we know World Records are broken every day, but it's very rare to hear someone become best in the world after a fifteen year hiatus. That's where the hypnosis comes in.
After a bad car accident when he was 18 (which left his leg in a cast for over a year) Liam used weightlifting to help with his rehabilitation . Then in his 20's, he lifted a record 310kg whilst weighing 75kg - which is still the greatest deadlift ever by an Irish man.
Liam underwent hip and knee surgery years after this and then decided to call it quits.
Fast forward to the present day and Liam wanted to give it one more shot. After a shaky performance in a competition, he "needed to do something about the nerves". So he contacted highly rated hypnotherapist Enda O'Shea of The D4 Clinic, O'Connell St., Limerick.
The lads chatted about his dramatic weigh loss (90kg to 65kg), how the hypnosis actually worked and how the training has changed the older he has become, "it's the complete opposite to how it used to be years ago".
Unbelievable stuff from the champ and we have no doubt that the D4 Clinic will be getting a lot clients after this *googles their number*
