If you haven't seen Dublin Daisy yet then do yourself a favour and watch this:
Now while you giggle your head off try and think of those party pieces you were asked to do as a child. Daisy here is clearly a STAR!
Fergal said he used to sing the theme to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Here are some of your best responses:
My sister and I did Irish Dancing and when we went on Holidays to Florida (she was 16; I was 12), we had to bring our dancing costumes and shoes so as to dance for our Aunties’s American friends. It was just in their sitting room, only 3 of them watching, but we had to lug the heavy dresses with us for those 10mins... - Caroline
My party piece was the chicken tonight song, with “flapping wings actions”
Mam wld get me to sing these country western songs at weddings...they were not exactly floor fillers. I have a clip from 1987 where i silence the place singing (at a wedding) a woeful tune about marital dispair called "if she did, she never did say so to Daddy"...I had no clue of the despair in that tune..I was just delighted to be singing..😂 Dympna
My dad used to make me recreate scenes from 'Into The West' for all his mates when they were having a few drinks. He thought it was the funniest thing ever.
I used to write little stories when I was a kid. I thought they were great and so did my parents....but I'm pretty sure all their friends did not enjoy me reading CHAPTERS AND CHAPTERS of my stories to them :joy:
Ferg my mum's family are from England and to embarrass the hell out of me and make herself look good she got me to say the Our Father and the Hail Mary in Irish in front of all my aunts uncles and cousins. I was 14 at the time. Morto. Sue in Leitrim.
Party piece: Hi Ferg, I used to be able to quote the lion king word 4 word at 5 years of age... uncles were impressed, granny not so much as she thought it was 'a bit violent'. - Sarah in Limerick
Hi Fergal, my party piece is I have a very loud clap. When we go out and get going my clap carries over the bar or club and everyone talking. I've tried various decibels apps but none work accurately. Barry from Tyrone Barry
