According to the Premier League, 68% of its players are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

While they say 81% of players have received at least one Covid-19 vaccination dose.

The numbers, which were released on Tuesday, come following much debate and some concern in relation to the apparent reluctance of players to get vaccinated.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently expressed his frustration over some players not wanting to get jabbed.

The Republic of Ireland's Callum Robinson, who plays for West Brom in the EFL Championship, sparked a national conversation this month when he revealed he had not been vaccinated, despite contracting the virus twice.

It was reported in the Daily Mail recently that only 30-35% of Premier League players had been fully vaccinated.

Those figures led to an increased push from footballing authorities internationally to win around footballers to the jab.

The Premier League statement in full read;

"The Premier League can confirm today that 81% of players have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination dose with 68% now fully vaccinated.

"Vaccination rates are collected by the Premier League on a weekly basis and the League continues to work with clubs to encourage vaccination among players and club staff.

"No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and player vaccination rates will be communicated at appropriate intervals in the future."
