Asthma is an inflammatory lung condition which causes narrowing of the airways. Many people find that their symptoms are exacerbated at this time of year.

It is a serious condition which affects 890,000 people in Ireland at some stage in their lives, including one in five children.

There is an asthma-related death in Ireland every six days. However, this can be avoided by ensuring good control of symptoms and reducing risk associated with the disease.
