In August of this year the much-loved Irish puppeteers The Lambert Family fell victim to an arson attack at their purpose built Dublin theatre which claimed over 400 precious puppets and generations of memories.

Four months on and with their busiest time of the year upon them, Anton was keen to see how the family were getting on. Not only did the fire destroy some of their precious history, but it also destroyed everything associated with this year’s Christmas show ‘Aladdin’.But they have risen from the ashes...

Liam Lambert revealed the family and their team have been dealing with the consequences and working around the clockto ensure that their Christmas shows could go ahead, and as they tell Anton, the response from the public has been overwhelming, with extra shows added! Laura Wynne joined Liam for a chat about the show and the year they have just had.

'Aladdin' will see some new characters, including Hairy whom Anton was particularly smitten with. A host of characters joined Anton for a chat, including the legendary ‘Judge’ who, in a moment of rare age honesty (all celebs lie about their age) told Anton he was 45 years old – in human years!

The Lambert Puppet Theatre was established in 1972 by Eugene Lambert. This year’s show ‘Aladdin’ is another in a long line of family favourite shows at the puppet theatre, and it runs at the theatre until Sunday January 31.
