Sex and the City Star Chris Noth was in Cavan Country Library yesterday tracing his Irish roots with the American version of Who Do You Think You Are. The programme will be aired on American television in the next few weeks, and it’s expected to be aired on Irish television after that.

As County Librarian Tom Sullivan told us, Chris Noth’s  great great grandfather hailed from Cavan. Tom tells Anton that ‘Mr Big’ was a lovely man with no demands @a man off the street” who enjoyed the hospitality and nature of the Cavan people.

There was great excitement around the visit and the library only got a couple of days notice that Mr Big was coming to Cavan

Chris had visited Ireland before in 2011 to film the €22m TV mini-series 'Titanic: Blood and Steel' about the building of the 'unsinkable' ship.

Mr Big said that he couldn’t wait to bring his 8 yr old son to Cavan, and told Tom that his favourite ever saying is an Irish one: “When I die I hope I’ve gone to heaven for a half hour before the devil finds out!”
