Christmas brings with it many joyous traditions here in Ireland. Watching the Toy Show, jumping in the sea, eating most farm animals in one sandwich whilst watching Willie Wonka and.....The 12 Pubs Of Christmas.
For the cave dwelling pioneers amongst you, The 12 Pubs concept is simple. You done a zany Christmas jumper and arrange a pub crawl with a group of like minded craic addicts which sees you have a 1 drink in, yes that’s right, 12 Pubs. The last 10 years or so has seen this craze sweep through the villages, towns and cities of this country like a wobbling, wooly army.
To some it’s a great excuse to gather your pals together and go on a drink fuelled adventure, to others (including many landlords) it is a poxy plague that fills your treasured local with drunken yahoos.
Avoiding the 12 pubs hoards is often as an involved an operation as the 12 Pubs itself so to help you have a quiet uninterrupted pint this Christmas, the lads at Publin.ie have come up with a list of hostelries in Dublin that will simply NOT be allowing any such carry on in their manor.
