16 per cent of motorists under 24 admit to drinking and driving in the past year.
The research from the RSA, ahead of the bank holiday weekend, shows that 10 per cent of all motorists say they've drank and drove in the past 12 months.
95 people have lost their lives on the roads so far this year, while 740 people a month are being arrested for drinking and driving.

The research also found that those who use a mobile phone are more likely to commit other traffic offence.
Gardai are warning that they'll be breathalysing anyone caught doing anything wrong.
On this weekend last year, 2 people died, 15 were seriously injured, and 166 arrested for drink driving.
