Gardaí have arrested a man and a woman in relation to the murder of a man who was shot dead on a roadside near Tallaght, County Dublin.

Both are in their mid 20's and are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

They are being held at Tallaght and Rathfarnham Garda Stations. 

The victim was in his thirties and was shot a number of times on Hills Lane, just off the N81 Tallaght to Blessington road.

Gardaí believe he was murdered sometime between 9pm last night, and 9am this morning.
