28 flu-related deaths have been reported since October.
According to the HSE's weekly report, five flu-related deaths were reported during the first week of 2020.
Since the beginning of flu-season, 2,038 people have been hospitalised with the virus.

In the same period, 72 people were admitted to intensive care units with the flu.
The HSE is reminding the public that it is still not too late to get the flu vaccine.
