It's believed that three police officers shot dead in Baton Rouge were lured to their deaths by a 911 call. They were responding to reports of gunfire.
Three other officers were injured when a former US Marine opened fire in the Louisiana city.

The officers were targeted by 29 year old Gavin Long, a black man who'd reportedly posted messages online criticising the treatment of African-Americans by police.
It's the fourth fatal shooting involving police in the US since the start of the month. On July 5th in the same city of Baton Rouge, Alton Sterling was shot dead by police. A day later, Philando Castille was fatally shot in Minnesota.
Five police officers were then shot dead in Dallas at a Black Lives Matter march protesting the killings.

In Los Angeles, rappers Snoop Dogg and The Game held a meeting last night for gang members and crime victims, calling for a stop to the violence.
The event was organised through social media.
President Barack Obama has condemned the latest shooting and has appealed for peace in America.
