French authorities say a man who confessed to kidnapping and killing a 9-year-old girl was planning to travel to the UK.
The 38-year-old from Poland was arrested after the body of the girl - named only as Chloe - was found in woodland just outside Calais.
Prosecutors in France say he arrived in the country a day earlier, and planned to travel to England to visit his sister.
