Virgin Media have launched a digital insights report which also revealed that consumers would demand almost €400 a month in compensation if their broadband was taken away.
The report examines how the internet is shaping the way we work, relax, socialise, learn and shop.

Over 9 out of ten internet users shop online, with the digital economy worth 7.5 billion euro and set to double in 5 years time.
CEO of Virgin Media Tony Hanway says it's a great opportunity for Irish retailers.
71% of people said that the internet helps them learn new skills while over half said it helped them relax.
But there are downsides to life online. Almost 40% said the internet was getting in the way of intimacy with their partner, while over 60% said it was preventing them from going to sleep!
Gerard O'Neill Charirman of Amarach research who carried out the study said the internet's going nowhere so we just have to deal with it.
