99 families became newly homeless in Dublin in July, new figures show.
It’s the second highest figure since 2013, according to Focus Ireland, and the highest since January 2016.
The charity says last month's increase means 1,178 families with 2,423 children in the capital are now without a home.
Almost 8,000 people are now homeless nationwide.
Roughan Mac Namara from Focus Ireland says it shows the crisis is deepening, and suggests "we've really got to reach a point where it is morally acceptable to be allowing this to happen".
The release of the figures follows the death of two homeless people yesterday in Dublin and Kildare.
