A man in his 50s has died in a crash on the Waterford/Kilkenny border this evening.

The man was driving a motorcycle near Kilmacow when he hit a bridge at around 5:15pm.

He was later pronounced dead in University Hospital Waterford.

The scene has been preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators have been notified.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
