Gardai and the PSNI are investigating separate ATM thefts on both sides the border.
It follows incidents in Cavan and Tyrone in the early hours of this morning.
At around 4 am a large digger was used to remove an ATM machine from a bank on Main Street, in Kingscourt in County Cavan.
It was placed on a trailer which was being towed by a light coloured large SUV. That left in the direction of Carrickmacross.
Meanwhile Police in the North are investigating an incident in which a digger was used to remove the ‘built in’ cash machine from a petrol station on the Ballygawley Road in Dungannon at around 4:15am causing substantial damage to the building.
Detectives believe the digger was stolen from a business a short distance away.
The digger was set alight at the scene immediately after the theft.
