Christmas lights are expected to add just under €20 to the average household electricity bill.
Wizer Energy says Irish Households can expect to see an extra €19.46 on their electricity bill this December.
The renewable energy company is also highlighting the cost benefits of LED bulbs - 25 metres of LED fairy lights costing only 0.0207c to run for 8 hours, averaging 64c for the month.
A string of 100 older incandescent bulbs can cost you nearly 6 times more, working out at roughly 13c per day or €4.28 per month.
