Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton have taken major steps towards claiming their parties' US presidential nominations.
They have dominated so-called Super Tuesday - both winning in seven of the 12 states picking nominees.

Donald Trump's vowed to beat Hillary Clinton in November's US election - as the two cemented their spots as front-runners for their parties in the race for the White House.

Clinton's democratic rival Bernie Sanders won four states including his home state of Vermont, while Trump's conservative opponent, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, breathed a sigh of relief when he also had a crucial win in his home state and in Oklahoma.
