The Acting Chief Medical Officer has raised concerns over "fast increasing" trends of coronavirus in a number of counties.
One of them is Cork, while there are also concerns about Galway, Monaghan, and Roscommon.
390 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed last night and no further deaths.
Meanwhile, crowds of young people gathered in Galway and Cork last night causing outrage among some locals.
Videos and pictures show 100s of people drinking at the Spanish Arch, while Gardai say they attended a number of house parties around Galway.
It comes as health officials have warned of rising Covid-19 cases in both counties.
Have sympathy for those entering college for first time during Covid but these scenes are simply unacceptable, particularly with recent growth in Galway cases. Have contacted Millstreet Gardai & written to NUIG President though I fear damage may be done. pic.twitter.com/IASFtk6Eqr

Spanish Arch, Galway tonight. Numbers will inevitability continue to rise. I’d expect Level 3 restriction before the end of the week.... pic.twitter.com/cBLUoJOfj9
