Bob Dylan has broken his silence more than two weeks after being awarded the Nobel Prize in literature.

The singer says he was left "speechless" by becoming the first musician to receive the honour.

He now says he wants to attend the award ceremony in Stockholm in December "if at all possible".

Dylan was announced as the winner of the prize on October 13, but failed to pick up the phone when the Nobel committee tried to get in touch.

That led to criticism and accusations of arrogance by a prominent member of the Swedish Academy that awards the prize.
