Probation offices in Derry have been damaged in an overnight explosion.

Police were alerted to a blast in Crawford Square near the city centre just before 11 o'clock last night.

Residents nearby were evacuated for a time as army bomb disposal experts examined a second device near the scene of the first explosion.

The PSNI says no injuries have been reported.
