The Northern Secretary has given parties in the north more time to reach an agreement on reestablishing the power-sharing executive.
The deadline for agreement between the two biggest parties the DUP and Sinn Féin passed at 4pm today.
Both sides are blaming each other for the collapse.
Northern Secretary James Brokenshire said it was "extremely disappointing" but added there is no appetite for fresh assembly elections, or for a return to direct rule from London.
