The Tánaiste and justice minister says the Garda Commissioner is "entitled" to full confidence.
Frances Fitzgerald says there haven't been any findings against Noirin O'Sullivan, and there cannot be a rush to judgement.
But this lunchtime she's refused to say what she will do if the latest whistleblowers demand the commissioner step aside for an investigation.
It's after reports this morning that senior Gardaí, who claim they were "under orders" to undermine the character of one whistleblower, demanded the temporary departure of Noirin O'Sullivan while their claims were scrutinised.
The Tanaiste also stopped short of following yesterday's claim from Enda Kenny, who said the claims might be given to a senior serving judge for examination.
