In Britain, the 96 football fans who died at Hillsborough are being posthumously awarded the Freedom of Liverpool.

Those who have campaigned on their behalf over the past 27 years will also receive the honour, including former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and his wife.

The families of the victims were given the Freedom of the City in 2009.
