Armed Gardai will be patrolling the Electric Picnic site as part of enhanced security measures this weekend.
Festivals across Europe have beefed up security, following the terror attack in Manchester in May.
Gardai say the threat level here remains unchanged, meaning an attack is possible but not likely.
Those attending Electric Picnic are reminded that backpacks or large bags cannot be brought into the festival arena.
