A Garda has been jailed for two years after being caught with images and videos of children being sexually abused.
Joseph O’Connor, who was based in Dublin before his suspension, denied five counts of possessing such material but was convicted on all but one.
His trial heard some of the children were under the age of ten.
The 58-year-old denied seeing the material and tried to blame another man who had called to his house for sex just days before the computer was seized.
The court heard he still maintains his innocence.
