An army bomb disposal team has made safe a pipe bomb which was handed into a Cork City Garda station this morning.
Togher Garda Station was evacuated after the device was brought into the Garda Station this morning by a member of the public, in a pram.
The man - who brought the device to the station - said he found it at the rear of his house in the nearby suburb of Ballyphehane.
The army bomb disposal team has confirmed that the pipe bomb was viable and would have seriously injured - or even killed someone - had it exploded.
