Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a male cyclist was killed in a crash in County Louth early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident at Birch's Lane in Blackrock shortly before 7 am.
The victim, a man in his fifties, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
His body was removed to Louth County Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have travelled on Birch's Lane between 4am and 7am to contact them.
Gardaí have closed the road and forensic collision investigators are due to examine the scene.
