The first ever World Humanitarian Summit is taking place in Istanbul in Turkey over the next two days.

This is a global call to action by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

The Irish delegation will include President Higgins and the CEOs of some of our largest aid agencies.

Around 125 million people need humanitarian assistance around the globe and the summit aims to determine how best to respond to the various crises.
