TDs are gathering in Leinster House ahead of the second round of votes for Taoiseach this afternoon.
But there will be no government elected today - and in fact Fine Gael's Enda Kenny may have less support than in the first vote last month.
All 15 of the independent TDs who have been involved in roundtable talks with both Kenny and his Fianna Fáil counterpart are set to abstain, if not actively vote against both candidates.
That's despite Fine Gael circulating a 120-page policy document to independents last night - which one TD this morning dismissed as 'pointless', saying: "There's nothing in it."
Kenny is set to meet Micheal Martin this evening as the two largest parties consider their options for government, and ways in which they might be able to collaborate.
