A 53-year-old Irish man has died after being stabbed at a pub in the Costa del Sol in the early hours of this morning.
It happened at pub in the resort of Fuengirola shortly before 2am, according to local media.
Málaga Hoy reports the man was attacked by surprise with a broken bottle of beer.
The victim and attacker are not believed to have known each other.
A 49-year-old British man has been arrested in connection with the investigation.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it's aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.
