An Irish man has died in Turkey.

The 64 year old is reported to have been found at an apartment in the tourist resort of Bodrum yesterday afternoon.

It is understood he suffered a number of stab wounds.

Turkish police are investigating the man's death. 

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it's providing consular assistance to the family of an Irish citizen who died in Turkey.
