Israeli Ambassador Rejects Claims Killing 270 Palestinians To Release Four Hostages Is Disproportionate
The Israeli Ambassador to Ireland has rejected claims its disproportionate for 270 Palestinians to be killed in an operation to free four Israeli hostages.
Many more were injured in the operation in Gaza.
There's been international condemnation of the incident.
However - Dana Erlich believes the operation was justified to free those taken hostage on October 7th last year:
"[I] reject that equation.
"I'll just raise some questions that it seems that the media and people forgot or are not questioning or not raising.
"It's tragic to hear that any civilians were killed.
"The only way to make sure that civilians are not killed is not to hide behind them and release all the kidnapped."
The Palestinian Ambassador to Ireland Dr Jilan Abdalmajid says she believes the hostages should be released - but not at the expense of Gazan lives:
" I feel with all the hostages, I feel with all these civilian hostages to be back home, but not on the price of killing tens of Palestinian people."
