Enda KennyÂ’s set to appoint 12 new junior ministers today.
Ten of the jobs are set to go to TDs from Fine Gael - with two being given to independents.
Our political correspondent Gavan Reilly reports.
There are 15 junior ministries - three of which have already been filled by so-called ‘super juniors’ who sit at the cabinet table.
That means Enda Kenny will have 12 jobs in his gift today - ten of which are expected to go to TDs from the Fine Gael backbenches.
But with 36 backbenchers to consider, the Taoiseach will have to keep his party happy - as well as sticking to the tried-and-tested formula of spreading ministers nationwide, and making sure independent cabinet ministers have Fine Gael colleagues.
HeÂ’ll also have to compensate in some areas after downgrading some areas, like arts, in the cabinet restructuring two weeks ago.
ThereÂ’ll be at least two junior ministers from the independent ranks - including Sean Canney of the Independent Alliance.
He will take a job for 12 months - before stepping down and handing it over to Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, who’ll have to wait after losing a coin toss two weeks ago.
