Enda Kenny's insisting he has nothing to apologise to Donald Trump for - as he prepares to meet him in the Oval Office.
Kenny will this afternoon become the first pro-European leader to visit the Trump White House - and later present him with a bowl of shamrock.
This lunchtime he's at the home of Vice-President Mike Pence - who last night suggested Trump might want to visit Ireland.
A row over 'racist and dangerous' language; a road bump over his calls for an amnesty for Irish immigrants; a day and a half cancelled due to extreme weather, and then a gaffe over a speech given to journalists including a line about resignation.
But as he finds himself at the top of the global queue for a meeting with the new US president, new question marks over his own future are not what Enda Kenny wanted.
