The 911 call made by the mother of a young boy who fell into a gorilla enclosure in Cincinnati has been released.

Shortly afterwards, the 17-year-old animal was killed by zoo staff over fears for the child's safety.

Nearly half-a-million people have now signed a petition calling for police to investigate the child's parents.
