Over half of Irish people know someone who has a mental health problem, while 1 in 5 people are suffering themselves.
Today is World Mental Health day and people are being encouraged to speak up if they're having a hard time.
Kim Buckley has this report:
Dublin taxi driver John Quinn lost his 17 year old son Sean to suicide in 2005 after a struggle with his mental health.
He spoke to Dermot and Dave this morning about his family's experience and to encourage others in the same situation to get help.
